To Marge, May 2022 It’s thanks to Marge that our painting gang got started. It was in 2003 at a watercolor course at Grand Canyon Caverns, with only seven participants. We had such a good time that on the last day, Marge said, “Hey, everybody! Let’s meet in Idaho next year!” So Kay (a lifelong friend of Marge’s), Linda, Sue and I took her up on the offer. What a great time we had in Idaho, with a warm reception from Marge and her husband Chuck. We called ourselves “The AZ Ladies” in honor of having started our journey together at the Grand Canyon Caverns art course. In 2006 Sue hosted us in Longbranch, WA. The group grew and grew over the years, and we became The Scurvy Elephant Artists. Our last painting adventure was in Seaside, OR, in 2015, with 14 in attendance, including the original five of us, of course. Thanks to Marge, we are left with so many happy memories. Lots of laughter, lots of fun. Thank you, Marge. We will miss you. |
