Sue's challenge... It doesn't require a photograph to inspire you. Just a sketch book, a pencil, or pen or paint brush along with a single color paint. In your sketch book you draw 6 boxes. A long box, a square box, a vertical box and horizontal one, a big box and small box. Then you fill them in. No box should take longer than one minute to complete. Put on a timer. In each of the boxes draw something familiar... your foot or hand, a glass of wine, a bottle of wine being poured into a glass, a bouquet of flowers, a table and chair, the dog or the cat. Your goldfish. But in each of the boxes whatever it is you have chosen to draw, you devote your eyes to the subject; the tool (pencil paint brush, pen) roams the space. In other words you are not trying for perfection, just an outline of the subject that your eyes are glued on to and your pen tries to follow. Work will be displayed on receipt. |
